Ellen Ulmer received her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Chatham College now Chatham University. Ellen is a Certified Addictions Counselor along with being a Nationally Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor. She has experience working with individuals and families across the lifespan and in various settings treating mood disorders, grief and loss, abuse, adjustment to transitions, and addiction, among other issues. She also works with children with behavioral and emotional disturbances and adjustment issues. Her approach includes empowering clients to believe in their own self worth and ability to find solutions.

I am also a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) having spent six years treating addiction including with Methadone maintenance (MMTP) as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I have had good results treating mood disorders and self-esteem issues.

Empathy and building good rapport. I lean towards Person-Centered and Solutions Based therapy, but use an eclectic approach.

I have a BS in theater performance and continue to participate in community theater.
